Angel Policy History

We have improved the Policy History feature in HawkSoft CMS!

The Policy History is a "snapshot" of the policy at the time the History is created. With v3.15, the Policy History feature has been enhanced to give your agency the flexibility to configure a default setting for all policy changes, as well as the ability to override the default for specific carriers.

You can now choose to create Policy Histories for companies that don't download, while turning the setting off for companies that do download, and avoid duplicate documentation.

To configure Policy History in CMS

1. Click Setup > General Configuration > General Settings from the main CMS menu bar.

2. Check the Policy History check box to enable the Policy History feature.

Note: If your agency doesn't want to document policy changes, leave this setting unchecked.

3. Select a global default setting for the majority of your carriers.

Note: This default setting can be overridden for each carrier.

  • Automatically create Policy History – Select this option to automatically create a Policy History each time changes are made to a policy. The Policy History will automatically attach to the policy.

  • Do not create Policy History (unless overridden) – You might want to select this option rather than leaving the main Policy History option unchecked if you don't want to create a Policy History for most policy changes. This option enables you to set an override for specific carriers that you DO want to create a Policy History for.

For example:You might want to create a Policy History only for carriers that don't download policy changes.

  • Prompt users before creating Policy History – Select this option to prompt the user each time changes are made to a policy. The user can choose to create a Policy History.

Set an override for specific carriers

With the Policy History enabled on the General Settings screen, you can override the default global setting for specific carriers as needed.

For example: If you selected Do not create Policy History (unless overridden) as the default setting, you can override this setting for those carrier that don't send downloads. This provides documentation at the policy level for any changes made.

1. Click Setup > Policy Company Setup.

2. Select the carrier, and then click Edit.

3. Select the Policy Info side-tab.
The default global setting appears below Policy History Override.

4. Select an Override from the drop-down for this carrier only.

See Policy History in the Help System for more information.
